Training Aids

To support our five purpose-built training tracks, Lindsay Park provides a wide range of state-of-the-art training tools to keep our horses fit, sound and happy.

Water Walker

The Water Walker is an essential fitness, conditioning and rehabilitation tool. Great for post gallop recovery, the cold water quickly cools a horse’s legs after a gallop reducing the chance of inflammation and injury. For horses returning to work after injury or an extended spell, a month on the water walker is not uncommon to give them a good base of fitness before having a rider on their back. Our horses love the water walker and the controlled environment it provides is safer and even more beneficial than the beach.

Swimming Pool

Our 50 metre equine swimming pool provides horses with an effective cardio workout without any weight bearing which is ideal for rehabilitation as well as offering variation in their fitness regime. Incredibly popular with our horses in the summer months, our pool gives them a fun, safe, fitness building experience.

Jumps Schooling

When a horse needs a new challenge and something different added to their training regime, our jumps are the perfect solution. Popping over the jumps provides excellent mental stimulation while teaching our horses a new skill. The jumps are used mostly by our older horses and for those who have been in work for an extended period.

Treadmills

With these five powerful, high tech, machines our horses can complete any type of work - walk, trot, canter and even gallop, across varying inclines and without the weight of a rider on their back. They provide training variety at every stage of a horse’s preparation.

Walkers

With five walking machines on the farm, our horses get plenty of time to stretch their legs during the day. Used for warming up and cooling down during trackwork hours, our walkers are also used in the afternoons for horses not currently in a day paddock to get out of their box and stretch their legs before dinner.
