Stable Season Success

Lindsay Park enjoyed a highly successful 2016/17 season on all fronts.
The stable finished second on the both the Australian and Victorian Trainer Premierships to Darren Weir.

Australia-wide the stable scored 279 wins amassing prize money of $19,646,419. Amongst the wins a total 40 races were won by our 2-year-old team.

In Victoria, a total of 253 winners were trained, inc. 109 Melbourne metro winners (defeating David Hayes’ training record of 103 in 2006/07) to total prize money of $15,496,310.

Group One winners, five individuals on the score board, headlined by MRC Blue Diamond Stakes winner Catchy who upheld David Hayes’ record of winning six Blue Diamond events (inc. three times quinella and in this year, in this, Victoria’s premier 2YO event, Lindsay Park had no less than six runners).

Other Group One winners included: He’s Our Rokki (MRC Toorak Hcp), Sheidel (MRC Oakleigh Plate), Redkirk Warrior (VRC Newmarket Hcp) and Vega Magic (SAJC Goodwood Hcp).

David Hayes’ career Group One record currently tallies 69 in Australia and but a career total of 87 which includes international and Hong Kong Group One races.

Ben Hayes has now been in the training partnership for one year, therefore has 5 Group Ones on his record, while Tom Dabernig entered the partnership with David in August 2014. Tom has nine Group Ones to his name.

All in all a tremendous season and many thanks must go out to our owners for their continued support and trust in us. While, it is without doubt, Lindsay Park would not achieve such success if it were not for our hard working dedicated staff. Both at Euroa and at Flemington, in the stables and in offices we have a valued team of people who work tirelessly, whose loyalty, dedication and precision keep the wheels of the Lindsay Park training machine in motion.

David, Tom and Ben express their enormous appreciation and sincere thanks to all for an incredible team effort over the past season. Thank You... Onwards and upwards as we take on August 1.
