Redkirk Warrior Conquers Gr 1 Newmarket Again

What a Warrior! Living up to his name Redkirk Warrior was the first horse in 100 years to win the Newmarket first-up when successful last year and the first since Razor Sharp in 1982-83 to win in successive years.

Now a three time Group one winner with his latest Newmarket Hcp win having also won the VRC Black Caviar Lightning Stakes just weeks ago, he has stamped his authority and affinity for the Flemington straight.

Partnered in each Group One by jockey Regan Bayliss, the 7yo imported gelding by Notnocato (GB) has now won eight of his 17 career starts for prize money earnings of $2,911,080.

Having raced in England over 2000m he was purchased by Hong Kong interests to race in their jurisdiction. Plagued by feet problems, he was sent to Lindsay Park, Euroa under the care of David Hayes and the team. Since then he has never looked back.

Looking forward it is yet to be decided if he will tackle the straight course sprints at Royal Ascot in June or perhaps compete in Hong Kong in May. As a straight course specialist David claims this is a "special horse" and could be one the best he or his father have ever trained.
