Flemington Stakes Winning Double

It was 2YO filly Khulaasa's time to shine at Flemington. Having been twice runner up on the straight, it was her turn to finish first and that she did.

The Group 3 TBV Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m) was her race and in claiming her first victory she became the stable's sixth individual 2YO stakes winner for the season.

Khulaasa by Epaulette ex Taameer (NZ) continues the Shadwell success with juveniles this season while stablemate Cristal Eyes (filly by All Too Hard) finished the race off for third to gain a Group 3 placing at only her second career start.

Khulaasa was ridden by Damien Oliver, who also steered home the stable's second stakes winner for the day. Sovereign Nation powered to the line in the Listed March Stakes (1400m) with stablemate Seaburge flying home to finish in third place.

The feature event for the day, the Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) was very nearly Lindsay Park's with Cool Chap a gallant runner up to dual Group 1 winner Humidor.

Congratulations to all owners!
