First Juvenile Stakes Race - Run and Won !

In keeping with the tradition of Lindsay Park’s juvenile success, the stable’s winning ways continued at Flemington on Saturday.

Heralded as the first 2yo race of the Victorian racing season, the Listed Maribrynong Trial Stakes (1000m) was proudly won by Lindsay Park.

Forward filly, Nomothaj (Snitzel ex Real Stolle) a $420,000 filly from the Gold Coast January Magic Millions purchased by Angus Gold for Sheikh Hamdan’s Shadwell Stud outsprinted Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin-owned Ranier to take the time-honoured event down the Flemington straight. In doing so she vindicated Lindsay Park’s 2yo fame, enabling the tagline “first 2yo runner, first 2yo winner” for the 2017/18 season.

Last season, Lindsay Park produced 40 juvenile wins over the racing season via 28 individual winners. Gr 1 Blue Diamond heroine Catchy stole the limelight with 4 straight wins over her 2yo career.

So far this year, Lindsay Park has taken 128 juveniles into the stable over the past few months; with David estimating about half of them will races as two-year-olds.
